GRA-200 is a professional granular engine effect that transforms any audio into rich, evolving textures and soundscapes. Granular engine works by breaking your sound into tiny grains (short slices, typically a few milliseconds to hundreds of milliseconds) and reassembling them in new ways. The result can be anything from subtle, shimmering ambience to dense clouds, glitchy stutters, or completely new timbres. GRA-200 puts that power in one plugin with a clear layout and a full effects chain so you can go from idea to finished sound without leaving the window.
Granular engine. You get up to 64 grains in real time. Grain Size (2 to 500 ms) sets how long each grain is: small values give buzzy, granular textures; medium values (around 20 to 100 ms) tend to sound musical and clear; large values lean toward rhythmic or stutter-like effects. Density controls how many grains play per second: low for sparse, exposed grains; high for thick, cloud-like layers. Grain Pitch shifts the pitch of the grains in octaves (negative for darker, positive for brighter) without changing the rest of your chain. Grain Position scrolls through the source audio so you can emphasize older or newer material. Reverse flips newly created grains for backwards textures; Morph crossfades each grain from its base position to a target for smoother, evolving movement. Granular Mix is an equal-power dry/wet so you can blend the granular layer with the original while keeping levels consistent.
Lo-fi shaper. After the granular stage, a dedicated section adds character. Bit Crush (1 to 16 bits) reduces bit depth for digital grit; Down sample (with anti-aliasing) thickens and lo-fi's the tone; Noise adds a small amount of noise for an analog feel. Use these subtly for warmth or push them for obvious lo-fi and vinyl-style colour.
Delay and reverb. The delay offers Delay Time in milliseconds or, when Sync is on, musical divisions (e.g. 1/4, 1/8, 1/16) locked to your DAW tempo. Feedback (with internal filtering for stability) and Delay Mix let you build repeats and space. Reverb Size and Reverb Mix add room or tail so the granular result sits in a space. Together, delay and reverb help turn granular clouds into pads and atmospheres.
Levels and safety. Input Gain and Output Gain give you control over level going in and coming out. The plugin uses equal-power mixing and a final safety ceiling so you can work at full wet without clipping.
